Responsibilities
- Assist Production Manager
- Help with machinery down time
- Maintain and promote a safe environment per Pratt Industries Safety Requirements
- Schedule workforce daily to meet warehouse needs
- Maintain and promote a clean work environment
- Maintain and promote a high quality standard (no damaged product to the customer, maintaining and in-house QA process, timely disposition of damaged goods)
- Directly supervise the work of all employees assigned to the department
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years prior supervisory experience
- Prior work in packaging industry preferred
- Able to read and interpret documents
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence
- Able to speak effectively before groups
- Able to calculate figures and amounts
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities
- Cost issues in order to make daily decisions
- Quality standards
- Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA
Qualifications
- Lift truck operator license (may be required to maintain)
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
- Ability to apply concepts of high school math
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear
- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and noise levels usually loud
