Production Laborer I

About the role

The Production Laborer I position at Atkore, based in Santa Paula, CA, is responsible for various production tasks including assembly, inspection, and maintenance of equipment. This role requires a one-year experience in a manufacturing setting and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the production line
• Load and unload parts from machine
• Feed or place items onto equipment for processing
• Pull damaged or non-conforming parts off the line
• Install and uninstall tooling from product
• Cut and scrape waste material from parts
• Label, clean, pack or strap and wrap finished goods
• Maintain a stationary position during shift
• Perform Daily 5S in production work area
• Remain flexible and adaptable to change
• Absorb and apply knowledge of basic hand power tools
• Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Participate in safety trainings and briefings
• Contribute to safety program improvements
• Work independently and in teams as needed
• Ensure high quality, safety, and efficiency standards
• Report issues to appropriate personnel
• Support team goals and company strategies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of production experience in a manufacturing setting
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and effective control standards
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
• Ability to interpret and execute standard works
• Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers
• Ability to detect problems and report information
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to familiarize and follow the 5S company program
• Good attendance and punctuality
