About the Role

As a Production Inspector at Benchmark, you will perform routine visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems, and sub-assemblies at various stages of production to ensure quality compliance with required standards. You will be part of a team passionate about making a meaningful impact across sectors such as commercial aerospace, defense, advanced computing, next-generation communications, complex industrials, medical, and semiconductor capital equipment. Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List, and other relevant written instructions.
  • Inspect for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings, and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies, including touch-up or correction of defects found during inspection.
  • Obtain and verify the correct paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment, ensuring the correct effective date.
  • Verify placement, polarity, and labels on circuit boards.
  • Use the Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
  • Perform minimal rework/repair duties and hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies as necessary.
  • Complete necessary routing tasks per procedure and enter board/system quantities into the Baan ERP system.
  • Input data into PFS and check configuration on all assemblies.
  • Provide timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering as appropriate.
  • Follow and maintain accurate process documentation, recommending improvements where applicable.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Utilize optical equipment to determine the acceptability of components and solder.
  • Operate the Nicolet X-ray machine and other sophisticated inspection equipment, interpreting results.
  • Use a majority of the inspection tools available on the production floor.
  • Mentor coworkers in the inspection area and on equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in basic electronics manufacturing.
  • May perform one or more of the following: PIR, WPI, FPI, AOI.
  • 2+ years of advanced electronics inspection (e.g., AOI).
  • Ability to work with and train diverse groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and multitasking skills, with the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong customer service and client focus.
  • Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and WebEx conferencing software.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required and work overtime when needed.
  • Willingness to train on new equipment and cross-train into other site operations.
  • Participation in continuous improvement activities.

Schedule

Full-time position on Shift 1, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay

Compensation range: $19.39 to $29.08 USD per hour. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
