Responsibilities

  • Prepare work areas for pre‑operational and post‑operational activities.
  • Load, unload, and transfer product to and from equipment and conveyors.
  • Monitor production lines, identify issues, and supply or replenish packaging materials as needed.
  • Sort, weigh, wrap, label, verify, and measure product to meet established specifications.
  • Inspect product and packaging materials and remove defective items from the process.
  • Report to the assigned workstation prepared to begin work at the scheduled start time and remain until the work is complete or released by a supervisor or manager; overtime may be required based on business needs and applicable policies or collective bargaining agreement provisions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Set up and tear down equipment, select predetermined settings, and use proper lifting, bending, and reaching techniques.
  • Follow company, plant, food‑safety, and workplace‑safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, hazards, equipment issues, or product‑quality concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One or more years of production or food‑processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow company, plant, food‑safety, and workplace‑safety rules and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of production processes and procedures.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate knives, equipment, and machinery used in the assigned work area.
  • Ability to use both arms and hands to perform tasks such as lifting, loading, cutting, wrapping, labeling, and packaging product.
  • Ability to work at a production conveyor line.
  • Ability to understand and follow product specifications and quality requirements.
  • Effective communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This is a physically active production position that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, and climbing, depending on the assigned work area.
  • Ability to remain on one’s feet and move throughout the assigned work area for extended periods, including during scheduled production shifts.
  • Frequent and regular use of hands, wrists, fingers, and arms (repetitive motion).
  • Ability to frequently handle materials weighing up to 60 lb and occasionally handle materials weighing up to 100 lb with assistance, where applicable.
  • Ability to perform visual tasks such as inspecting product and packaging, reading labels, and identifying defects or safety concerns.
  • Ability to receive and respond to job‑related instructions, safety information, and equipment or workplace signals; the work area may be noisy.
  • Work is performed in a food‑processing environment that may be wet, damp, and cold, with temperatures frequently around 34 °F.
  • Employees must follow required safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment.
