PRODUCTION GENERAL FOREMAN (CUT FLOOR)

About the role

We are seeking a Production General Foreman to oversee all production operations, maximize value, and increase productivity within our meat packing facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all production operations to maximize value and increase productivity.
• Supervise and manage production departments and operations supervisors.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to maintain and increase satisfaction and product knowledge.
• Direct supervisors regarding production volume, quality, cost, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Ensure adherence to procedures that promote the health and welfare of all employees in the departments.
• Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and foster teamwork to attain department objectives.
• Review daily production schedules to plan work and personnel assignments; coordinate extra work as needed.
• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.
• Study operations where cost standards are not being met, determine causes, and apply corrective measures with appropriate management personnel.
• Arrange for the preparation and maintenance of appropriate production records.
• Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions; take disciplinary measures when required and assist supervisors in handling grievances.
• Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
• Establish accountabilities and goals for performance evaluation in concert with individual supervisors.
• Attend and schedule appropriate meetings.
• Perform various other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Management experience in the meat packing industry.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Good organization skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field preferred.
