Production Forklift Operator

About the role
The Production Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift throughout the production area while following all applicable safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.
- Keep work area clean and organized by practicing good housekeeping in the immediate work area.
- Complete daily inspection of forklift.
- Ensure all pallets are loaded properly and clearly communicate any issues to supervisor and reload pallets correctly.
- Ensure product is stocked in the proper location.
- Ensure trailers are loaded/unloaded using proper method.
- Ability to use barcode scanner.
- Communicate injuries, equipment/product damage, and unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Work in a safe manner by following all company rules and regulations as instructed during job orientation and yearly required safety training.
- Identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the Production Manager for assistance.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Follow SOPs to meet customer specifications and maintain food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
- Ensure all tasks and functions are performed in a safe manner at all times.
- Responsible for food safety and quality, reporting problems to personnel with authority if unable to initiate action.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to attend all job-related training classes.
- Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts using a calculator.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Data entry skills helpful.
- Successful completion of company forklift certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- As required to attend off-site training.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Subject to company rules, regulations, and GMPs.
