About the role
To manufacture and produce quality feed products as directed, through established procedures and approved processes; handle incoming, binned, and outgoing grain.
Responsibilities
- Stack bagged grain
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks
- Make periodic inspections of all stored grain
- Make inspections of stored grain as requested by Feed Mill Supervisor
- Be familiar with manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ensure floor organization and plant cleanliness
- Ensure floor stocking levels are met
- Assist or fill in for machine operators when necessary
- Greet customers promptly and courteously with a friendly smile, say hello, and thank them for their business
- Assist customers with unloading and loading of feed
- Answer phone in a prompt and courteous manner, as necessary
- Attend meetings as requested
- Uphold all cooperative policies and procedures
- Perform other tasks and duties as requested by the Mill Supervisor, Feed Mill Manager, or Director of Operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
