About the Role
This position is responsible for transporting associates to and from work. During non-driving hours, you will assist with facility maintenance, including cleaning, working on the production line, and following health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
When Working as a Driver
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all traffic rules and regulations.
- Must be punctual and stringent about route schedules with no delays in pick-up and delivery.
- Prepared to work in any traffic pattern, severe weather, and strict deadlines according to business needs.
- Must always be in full uniform provided by the company.
- Provides professional and courteous service to staff.
When Working in Production
- Feeds machinery with sheets, duvets, bathrobes, pillowcases, towels, tablecloths, napkins, and mats.
- Maintains a clean and organized workstation.
- Ensures linen being processed belongs to the assigned account.
- Identifies damaged, dirty, or mixed linen and places it in the correct containers.
- Maintains an average of 85% or above for production based on the IT system (Spindle).
- Must be logged into the IT system (Spindle) while working on the machine.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
When Working in Janitorial
- Responsible for general cleaning of all production areas, main office, interior and exterior building areas, including parking areas.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and/or vacuums floors.
- Cleans all assigned areas as directed by management.
- Dusts walls, ceilings, machines, and equipment as instructed by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- 3 months or more of related experience in a commercial laundry or hotel industry.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Valid USA driver’s license for at least 5 years.
- Able to pass insurance background check.
- Ability to understand, comprehend, and follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and product labeling.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet required performance goals and objectives.
- Ability to work in a team environment and alone.
- Good communication, both oral and written in English.
- Must have good attention to detail.
Working Conditions
- Inside work: Frequently protected from weather conditions.
- Outside work: Occasionally exposed to weather with no effective protection.
- Both inside and outside work: Frequently occurs both inside and outside an office enclosure.
- Extreme cold: Rarely below 32 degrees for periods of more than 1 hour.
- Extreme heat: Rarely above 100 degrees for periods of more than 1 hour.
- Noise: Frequently requires shouting to be heard over ambient noise (hearing protection required).
- Vibration: Occasionally exposed to oscillating movements of extremities or whole body.
- Potential hazards: Frequently exposed to moving parts, electricity, gas, scaffolding, chemicals, etc.
