About the role

We are seeking a Production Engineering, Supervisor to join our team at Videojet, a Veralto company. This role is part of the Operations Team located in Elk Grove, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a best-in-class preventative and predictive maintenance program that maximizes equipment reliability and minimizes unplanned downtime.
  • Lead the planning, budgeting, execution, and commissioning of capital investment projects supporting manufacturing growth, automation, infrastructure, and facility improvements.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for the site's Maintenance Technician while establishing clear priorities, standard work, and accountability.
  • Develop equipment maintenance strategies, spare parts management, asset documentation, and equipment lifecycle plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), safety, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Partner with Operations to identify process bottlenecks and implement engineering solutions that improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop equipment standards, maintenance procedures, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and lead root cause investigations for recurring equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure manufacturing equipment and facility projects meet all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement automation, new technologies, and process improvements that enhance manufacturing capability and reduce operating costs.
  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors, contractors, and external engineering resources.
  • Support facility maintenance activities including utilities, infrastructure, and building systems as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering, production engineering, maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or industrial engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Proven experience leading capital investment projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
  • Experience leading maintenance personnel or technical teams with a focus on coaching and accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, and industrial automation.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging, filling, chemical processing, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing infrastructure and facility systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning practices.
  • Experience implementing automation or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and industrial safety standards.
