Production Engineering Specialist

About the role

In this role you will support process improvements for the US – Motion - System Drives Production Lines in the areas of Safety, Delivery, Internal Logistics, Lean Manufacturing, Quality, and Automation.

Work model: onsite in New Berlin, WI.

This role contributes to the High-Power Motion division in North America.

This position reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support safety initiatives at the site by identifying hazards, recommending improvements, and assisting with work cell redesign and ergonomic assessments.
• Assist with quality activities including work instructions, PFMEAs, error proofing, and managing ECNs as they arise. Support compliance with quality management system requirements.
• Assist with capacity and cost improvement projects by participating in kaizens and identifying continuous improvement opportunities in daily operations.
• Support project execution by working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, tracking progress, and ensuring changes are properly implemented and sustained.
• Assist with automation evaluation and implementation of manufacturing process technologies including robotics, vision systems, AGVs, and control systems.
• Support coordination of equipment vendors and documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or Operations role.
• Working knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAP.
• Familiarity with CAD software a plus.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
