Production Engineer
Overview
A leading global financial institution is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join its Investment Banking Production Engineering team in Cary, NC. This role focuses on supporting and maintaining critical production systems, ensuring stability, performance, and reliability across a suite of applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for business-critical applications, ensuring high availability and performance
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to enhance system stability
- Automate operational processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support application releases, deployments, and environment management
- Maintain clear documentation for systems, processes, and incident management activities
Required Skills & Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in Production Engineering, Application Support, or a similar role
- Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments
- Hands-on development experience in:
- Python
- C/C++
- Solid database knowledge with experience in PL/SQL
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities across complex systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms
- Exposure to investment banking or financial services environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, or DevOps practices
