About the role

This individual will be responsible for maximizing production and profitability of oil and gas properties through assessing associated costs and estimating production capabilities and economic value of oil and gas wells. The position is based in any of our North Dakota field offices and requires frequent travel to field locations.

Responsibilities

  • Actively practice and support company EHS and operating policies
  • Maintain artificial lift information databases including written documentation and tracking of failures
  • Work closely with the production team to minimize deferred production and reduce operating expenses
  • Witness teardown of failed artificial lift equipment and work with vendors to enhance equipment designs to reduce failure frequency and maximize production
  • Identify root cause of failures and recommend improvements
  • Work with chemical specialists and chemical providers to ensure protection and optimized execution of chemical treatments of artificial lift wells
  • Apply statistical models, including survival analysis and run-life cohort comparisons to evaluate artificial lift performance, support equipment selections, and quantify the value of operational practices
  • Develop and maintain equipment design and selection models informed by well history and environment
  • Utilize XSPOC software to identify wells that need intervention or assistance and proactively work towards optimization of all wells
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Meet deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong statistical reasoning skills: ability to identify and account for sampling, selection & survivorship bias
  • Basic knowledge of Python & SQL
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Must possess ability to work in adverse conditions and all types of weather.
