About the role
As a Production Planner at StandardAero, you will translate customer orders for the assigned cell involving several sequential operations. Your responsibilities include controlling various production factors to ensure balanced and leveled loads, appropriate utilization of available capacity (labor, tools and equipment), and managing bottlenecks, all while facilitating a controlled flow of approved materiel to meet delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review current Work-In-Progress (WIP) for various cells to provide daily schedules for Operations Leaders.
- Review daily production schedules to properly move and stage parts for workflow efficiency.
- Stage parts and ensure orders have the proper materials required.
- Review various reports on the progress of work, material delivery dates, rates of production, and other production information using manual or computerized systems.
- Monitor the movement of parts, supplies, and materials within and between cells/business units to ensure timely shipping and receiving.
- Work with other departments such as production, quality, and management to ensure a smooth flow of production.
- Advise Operations Leaders on the status of work in progress, material availability, and disruptions in the schedule to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
- Identify and initiate improvements to production process flows.
- Observe all applicable safety requirements and report any unsafe practices/conditions immediately.
- Carry out special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in planning and/or scheduling.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
Qualifications
- Previous operations planning and/or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of production management computer systems.
- Previous experience with ERP databases and proficiency with computer navigation.
