Position Summary
The Production Coordinator supports day-to-day CNC production operations by coordinating work orders, schedules, and material flow on the shop floor while owning the reporting and analytics that inform supervisors and management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Track production performance, inventory utilization, material availability, and operational KPIs, preparing analytical summaries for supervisors and management.
- Monitor work orders, production schedules, inventory, and material movement to ensure operational accuracy and support timely production activities.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly lists to support accurate production coordination.
- Assist in designing and improving operational workflows, reporting processes, and manufacturing documentation to improve production efficiency.
- Build and analyze complex spreadsheets and dashboards using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Receive structured training from an experienced Production and Operations Supervisor on manufacturing systems, operational analytics, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with CNC operators and floor personnel to ensure production schedules and material availability align with operational goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Drafting/CAD, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or CNC-adjacent operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets, including building and analyzing complex spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or general drafting principles preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules, work orders, and reporting deadlines simultaneously.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing summaries and coordinating across floor and management teams.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret fabrication drawings, understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours).
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, fitness for duty test, etc.).
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment.
- Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise.
- May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season.
- Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
