About the role
The Production Coordinator serves as the critical link between production, materials, and warehouse operations to ensure manufacturing schedules are met. This role is responsible for coordinating material availability, monitoring production schedules, resolving material shortages, and maintaining accurate transactions within the ERP system. The Production Coordinator proactively works across departments to identify and address issues that could impact production flow, ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed.
A Day In The Life
- Review daily and weekly production schedules to ensure material readiness for manufacturing.
- Coordinate the timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies needed to support production.
- Investigate and resolve material shortages, discrepancies, and inventory issues that could impact production schedules.
- Partner closely with warehouse, purchasing, planning, and production teams to expedite materials and maintain workflow.
- Monitor inventory transactions and maintain accurate system records within SAP or other ERP systems.
- Track and communicate production constraints, material shortages, and schedule risks to appropriate stakeholders.
- Follow up on missing materials and work with internal teams to locate, transfer, or replenish inventory.
- Ensure production orders are accurately processed and updated in the ERP system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy, material flow, and production efficiency.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer commitments, production deadlines, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using SAP or a similar large-scale ERP system.
- Exposure to materials management, inventory control, warehouse operations, or production planning.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
