About the Role
To learn all aspects of production and handle production goal tracking, quality and quantity checks. This position supports and fills in as a Customer Service Coordinator when needed. While not a formal supervisory role, it includes coaching, training, and development of team members.
Responsibilities
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals for the store.
- Work with the manager to ensure donation volume or raw material meets expectations to support store goals and sales.
- Ensure every rack or cart of processed goods meets standards of quality and closely monitors quantity and pricing.
- Cross-train and be proficient in every aspect, including the pace of production, to train new Merchandise Processors and fill in when necessary.
- Train new staff and coach existing staff to follow the production process, holding staff accountable for meeting processing goals.
- Perform opening and closing of the store as assigned by the manager.
- Cross-train and be proficient in cash register procedures to substitute for a Customer Service Coordinator.
- Communicate production progress, changes, and general information during staff meetings.
- Ensure workstations are stocked with only necessary supplies to meet goals.
- Ensure the store is locked, secured, and all personnel have left safely when closing.
- Ensure all Merchandise Processors complete one hour of floor work each day.
- Follow product placement and rotation processes to company standards.
- Meet quality and goals by sending jewelry and merchandise weekly to the Ecommerce Department.
- Ensure compliance with all Goodwill Keystone Area policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Support additional tasks and projects as needed.
- Promote workplace safety and ensure duties are performed safely.
- Communicate progress, problems, and concerns to the Store Manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or three (3) years of related experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous retail or manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work in an open warehouse environment exposed to various weather and temperatures.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as a team member.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Ability to continuously perform repetitive work.
- High level of integrity and business ethics.
- High level of adaptability and flexibility, including scheduled work hours.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
- Proficiency with computers, calculators, and other operational technology.
- Must pass State background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
