About the role
We are seeking a Production Coordinator to join our team supporting NASA’s deep space exploration missions. In this role, you will help maintain and optimize the shop production schedule, coordinate manufacturing workflows, and ensure timely delivery of aerospace hardware while working with a passionate, diverse team dedicated to advancing human space exploration.
Responsibilities
- Maintain shop production schedules (by job, machine, work center, etc.) in e2 software.
- Develop and collaborate with the Production Scheduler to maximize manufacturing efficiency at the job and work center levels.
- Review, plan, and coordinate the execution of manufacturing work requests using designated software.
- Daily review and adjustment of hardware development schedules and workflow within work centers to align with shop priorities.
- Develop job kits to full-kit level, including material, consumables, and documentation.
- Track manufacturing work orders, provide status reports to customers, and follow up on questions or concerns.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of project experience in project controls.
- Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities for multiple projects with overlapping schedule demands.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining (manual, CNC mill and lathe, multi-axis, and electric discharge machining), sheet metal fabrication, welding, composites manufacturing, cleaning, hardware assembly, water knife, and press brake.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing and physical characteristics of metals, plastics, composites, and fibrous materials.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed scheduling decisions.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines with high-quality results.
