About the role
The Foodservice Production Cook plays a crucial role in providing exceptional Guest service while supporting daily kitchen operations. This position prepares, cooks, and serves food according to menu standards and Guest requests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, heat, and serve all components of the daily menu following Plum Market Foodservice standards.
- Maintain the hot bar during lunch service to ensure food is fresh, well-presented, and properly rotated.
- Perform all food safety and sanitation practices, including daily equipment checks and temperature logs.
- Demonstrate proper knife skills, portion control, and recipe execution.
- Receive deliveries, stock shelves and coolers, and rotate products according to established standards.
- Absorb and support other stations as needed, including Sandwich and Salad.
- Wash dishes as needed and keep all kitchen areas, equipment, and floors clean and in excellent working condition.
- Sweep and mop floors daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
- Communicate needs, issues, or concerns to Leadership promptly.
- Uphold all Plum Market Foodservice policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a cook.
- Think quickly and can step into different roles as needed to ensure service, food safety, and sanitation standards are met.
- Understand and practice proper rotation principles and food safety standards.
- Take pride in maintaining clean equipment and an organized, safe kitchen environment.
- Be dependable, self-motivated, and committed to working alongside your team to ensure Guest satisfaction.
- Be able to properly open and close the kitchen, including equipment checks, sanitation, and documentation.
Qualifications
- A passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn and grow in your culinary skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Leadership.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break, bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Schedule
