Production Control Leader (5th Shift)

When you come to work at the GE Aerospace Airfoils facility in Greenville, you’ll produce High Pressure Turbine Blades that power commercial and military aircraft. The role uses innovative production methodologies including complex machining, special processes, and NDT.

About the role

The Production Control Leader (2nd Shift) ensures reliability and consistency of daily operations to meet customer needs. You will coach and supervise direct reports, implement technical and procedural solutions to improve Safety, Quality, and Delivery, schedule resources, provide leadership, and facilitate throughput to meet customer requirements. Compliance with internal safety, quality system, business policies, and regulatory requirements is essential. You will mentor, facilitate teamwork, and enhance company culture through people leadership.

Schedule

This is a 5th Shift position covering weekend nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and monitor production plans according to instructions
• Coach, develop, and supervise hourly production employees
• Drive a positive shop floor culture focused on safety, quality, delivery, and employee engagement
• Ensure and promote safety as a job priority throughout the plant
• Perform administrative duties including time and attendance, labor vouchers, disciplinary actions, and missing time corrections
• Execute production through resource allocation, critical part execution, and collaboration with the production team
• Coordinate day-to-day interface with cell management, technical resources, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations
• Collaborate across teams and shifts (Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and Operations) to implement technical solutions improving productivity and reducing costs
• Practice sound human relations and communications skills to motivate and develop a self-directed workforce
• Coach associates on employee relations and conflict resolution
• Engage employees to understand business goals and meet production requirements
• Collaborate with the FLIGHT DECK team to develop and implement Lean process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to analyze and diagnose equipment and tooling problems, coordinating corrective measures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
