Production Control Coordinator

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection, and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense, and aerospace sectors. This position supports operations by coordinating material availability and ensuring timely workflow within the optics production environment at our Boulder, Colorado facility, which specializes in manufacturing ultra-precision optical components, optical thin-film coatings, and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications.

This role requires the use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules for optics manufacturing based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
• Track and manage the availability of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies required for optics production. Work with procurement and warehouse teams to prevent production delays.
• Monitor production progress on the shop floor, identify bottlenecks, and communicate with relevant teams to optimize throughput.
• Maintain accurate production data including order status, inventory levels, and production metrics. Prepare daily/weekly reports for management review.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure production complies with specifications and regulatory standards. Assist in implementing corrective actions for production issues.
• Serve as a liaison between production, engineering, supply chain, and quality departments to ensure smooth production flow and timely resolution of issues.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic knowledge of optics manufacturing processes and terminology is a plus.
• Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Pay

$26.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on experience.
