About the role
The Production Control Clerk will assist the Master Scheduler in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily analysis and reporting of production status.
- Troubleshoot and report computer system issues that may affect production.
- Assist with physical inventory process; coordinate the closing of all work orders prior to count.
- Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress, resolve production flow issues, and revise production schedules as needed due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions.
- Examine documents and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- End/Close work orders to ensure accurate posted journals and costing.
- Provide on-call support for production environment.
- Compile information such as production rates, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information to complete status reports.
- Adjust set-ups on parts including routings, Safety Stocks, and EOQ’s.
- Compile and prepare documentation related to production.
- Examine future work orders for on-time release or potential problems.
- Assist with special projects/procedures requiring special attention (e.g., galvanizing orders, large or rare orders, stock builds).
- Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Up to 2 years’ progressive office experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong oral and written English language skills.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Manufacturing/Inventory software experience or experience in a manufacturing environment.
