Production Control Associate
The Role
The Production Control Associate is responsible for coordinating daily production control activities within the warehouse to ensure accurate material flow, inventory integrity, and on-time support of manufacturing operations. This role bridges Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure materials are available, properly staged, and aligned with the production schedule. Production Control Associate will work with production control associates to drive execution of material planning, transaction accuracy, cycle counting, and line-side replenishment processes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to the production line in alignment with the build schedule
- Execute safe rigging and lifting operations for large, heavy, or complex components (e.g., panels, floor stacks, structural assemblies)
- Inspect and utilize rigging equipment (slings, shackles, spreader bars, lifting beams) in accordance with safety standards
- Carefully coordinate with operators and spotters to safely move materials across work zones
- Maintain oversight of material availability to prevent line stoppages or shortages
- Support kitting, staging, and line replenishment activities
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Execute cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain high levels of accuracy
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Maintain alignment between physical inventory and system records (ERP/WMS)
Transaction Discipline
- Perform and validate system transactions including receipts, transfers, consumption, and adjustments
- Ensure all material movements are properly recorded in real time
- Conduct transaction audits and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures
Receiving & Putaway
- Support inbound receiving processes, ensuring accurate count, quality verification, and system entry
- Carefully coordinate proper putaway and bin location accuracy
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Identify process gaps impacting material flow, rigging safety, inventory accuracy, or efficiency
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, process standardization, rigging best practices)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve issues quickly
- Communicate material risks, rigging constraints, shortages, and operational blockers proactively
Safety & Compliance
- Execute all rigging and material handling activities in compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Perform pre- and post-use inspections of rigging equipment (Go/No-Go criteria)
- Ensure proper load balancing, securement, and lifting techniques are followed
- Maintain organized, clean, and audit-ready work areas (5S standards)
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, production control, or materials
- Experience in a logistics and warehousing environment (high-mix, high-volume preferred)
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience
- Working knowledge of inventory control principles and material planning
- Potential preference for Lean Manufacturing training or certification
- Understanding of takt-based production systems
- Forklift certification (if applicable)

Compensation
Offers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $30-$32 per hour for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
