Production Control Assistant

Provides administrative and operational support to the Production Control team by maintaining accurate job data, processing shop documentation, assembling work order packets, and helping ensure the timely execution of the production schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain work orders and revision updates in the system with a high level of accuracy.
  • Perform daily job maintenance, including labor entry, quantity updates, and other job-related data changes.
  • Conduct assembly job reviews and perform documentation accuracy checks to ensure complete and correct information.
  • Support the daily review of jobs that are ready to issue to Raw Material and help keep material flow on schedule.
  • Assist with MRP-related tasks as assigned by the Production Control team.
  • Support CNF (Confirmation) and RMA (Return Material Authorization) review processes by verifying and updating related documentation.
  • Assemble and prepare complete work order packets for production, including all required documentation and drawings.
  • Split jobs as required to meet scheduling or material needs and update records accordingly.
  • Print and review drawings as part of work order packet preparation, flagging any discrepancies or questions.
  • Coordinate questions and discrepancies with Production Control leadership to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
  • Support the purchasing team with clerical tasks such as filing, printing, and documentation organization as needed.
  • Handle a steady stream of requests and interruptions while maintaining accuracy and meeting production schedule demands.
  • Communicate clearly with planners, production staff, and supervisors when reviewing drawings, addressing documentation questions, or flagging discrepancies.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall production control operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Data entry experience preferred, with a strong focus on accuracy when entering work orders, labor, quantities, job updates, material issues, and revision changes.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred, with familiarity in production flow and work order processes helpful but not required.
  • Comfort working with computers and digital systems, including navigating ERP systems and managing digital documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, job packets, and system updates.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate closely with planners, production control staff, production personnel, and support teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage high-volume clerical and documentation tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to address documentation questions, review drawings, and flag discrepancies.
  • Self-starter mindset with a willingness to take on repetitive clerical tasks and maintain consistency in daily work.

Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Epicor, is a plus but not required.
  • Previous exposure to production planning, MRP workflows, or manufacturing documentation is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn internal workflows, job packet requirements, and ERP functionality.
  • Experience in data entry within a production, manufacturing, or related industry environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, such as printing, assembling packets, reviewing drawings, performing job maintenance, and supporting daily job releases.
  • Interest in gaining deeper understanding of manufacturing operations and how production control supports overall plant performance.

Work Environment

This is an in-person role based in a fast-paced production plant with multiple shifts and dynamic operational needs. Approximately 70% of the role consists of high-volume clerical work, including data entry, documentation management, and packet preparation. The position involves frequent interaction with planners, production staff, and other support teams, requiring regular communication and coordination across departments. The environment emphasizes accuracy, communication, and teamwork, offering opportunities to learn ERP systems, support high-volume operational activities, and gain insight into how manufacturing operations function. The role may offer potential for contract extension or conversion depending on business needs and individual performance, though this is not guaranteed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, WA.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
