About the Role

Falls Church Anglican (TFCA) is seeking a skilled Production Contractor to support audio and production needs for worship services, rehearsals, studio work, and ministry events on an as-needed basis. This role supports both traditional and contemporary Anglican worship environments and may include FOH, Broadcast, A2/Stage Tech, and occasional studio engineering or recording responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a versatile, experienced production technician with strong competency in audio engineering, live sound reinforcement, DAW workflows, and basic AVL systems. This contractor should be proactive, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and other contractors to ensure excellent technical execution of services and events.

Responsibilities

Live Production

  • Provide FOH, Broadcast, or A2 audio operation for Sunday services and occasional special services or events.
  • Support rehearsals (Wednesday or event-specific) as needed.
  • Troubleshoot live production systems including routing, networking, and signal flow.
  • Ensure high-quality audio mixes appropriate for traditional, contemporary, and broadcast worship environments.

Ministry & Event Support (As Needed)

  • Provide audio/production support for Women’s Ministry, Youth events, retreats, classes, funerals, weddings, and other TFCA gatherings.
  • Set up/strike microphones, DI boxes, IEM systems, playback devices, and small PA systems—including basic troubleshooting—for mid-week or evening ministries.

Systems & Technical Support

  • Operate TFCA’s PM7 console, LV1 system, Q-SYS, Klang, Dante networks, and related production systems.
  • Identify equipment needing repair or replacement and communicate issues promptly.
  • Contribute to improving documentation, workflows, and system organization over time.

Team Collaboration

  • Work alongside staff and volunteers in a professional, supportive manner.
  • Assist in volunteer development, training, or shadowing opportunities where appropriate.
  • Represent TFCA’s Production Team with excellence and reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience with professional live production or touring-grade AVL systems.
  • 3+ years experience mixing, editing, or engineering in live or studio settings.
  • Strong understanding of FOH mixing, broadcast audio, and contemporary/traditional worship contexts.
  • Proficiency in major DAWs (Reaper, ProTools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, etc.).
  • Experience with Dante, SoundGrid, and modern digital console ecosystems.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and troubleshoot quickly during live events.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

All event-based scheduling will be handled via Planning Center Online (PCO); contractors receive service plans, instrumentation, and team assignments there. Studio/Post Production, Technical Support, and Small Events needs will be scheduled on an ad-hoc basis via email/phone. Scheduling is typically planned 1–2 months in advance, with weekly email reminders summarizing upcoming needs.

Pay

  • Sunday Services: $240 per service (two services currently offered).
  • Weekday/Evening Rehearsals: $120 per rehearsal block (typically 7–9 PM).
  • Special Events (weddings, funerals, ministry events, youth/women’s gatherings): Paid per event according to scope; standard service rates generally apply unless otherwise noted.
  • Ad-Hoc Technical Support (equipment staging, loading, prep): $560/280 full day/half day rate.
