About the Role
The Production Clerk is responsible for entering production and other plant data into inventory computer systems, preparing and maintaining various required reports, and assisting with purchase orders and finance needs. This role reports to both production and finance departments.
Responsibilities
- Work respectfully with all team members to ensure safety, quality, production, and support of products and goals daily.

- Actively participate in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects, or tasks, and modification programs as needed.
- Participate in department, shift, and team meetings, contributing to improvement resolutions and follow-up.
- Assist with corrections, updates, and adjustments in SAP Work in Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods.
- Review and correct daily consumption errors for assigned shift.
- Support SAP training for new operators and processors.
- Track and research bin errors in partnership with Finance.
- Assist with issuing and maintaining Blanket POs to service-related vendors and follow up to ensure each release is received.
- Submit work orders and coordinate with receiving for all services and work orders due.
- Assist finance with coordination of AP activities.
- Develop and distribute Processing Batch Sheets daily.
- Add items to or adjust the production schedule as needed.
- Generate, maintain, analyze, and distribute production efficiency charts and other production reporting metrics.
- Run and distribute various reports as requested by management.
- Coordinate with department managers and supervisors on scheduling or production issues.
- Complete initial and annual training to ensure qualification for all required job tasks.
- Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs.
- Serve as a qualified individual as part of the plant’s Food Safety Plan, including monitoring and verification activities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in production within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food-related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and manage correspondence.
- Strong organizational abilities, capable of multitasking, with strong analytical and math aptitude.
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office applications and SAP.
- Working knowledge of production processes and scheduling systems in manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret written and verbal directions while working safely and productively in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
Working Conditions
- Works in a manufacturing environment requiring regular speaking, reading, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, crouching, lifting, reaching, grasping, and bending.
- Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and intervals.
- Must be able to stand for an 8–10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Exposure to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and moving parts/equipment.
- Loud noise levels in the plant; ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
