Production Associate - Simms Store

Full-time positions are available. Pay: $15.95 per hour.

About the role

The Associate I, Retail Production will primarily work in a production environment processing and sorting donated items following company quality standards and guidelines to determine which items will be placed on the sales floor to be sold. This process includes pricing and testing guidelines as required. The Associate is responsible for ensuring the sales floor area is well stocked with product in an organized and presentable fashion. The Associate may occasionally be in contact with customers and is expected to provide excellent customer service.

This position works in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. Retail Centers are open 9AM to 9PM Mondays through Saturdays and 9AM to 8PM Sundays.

This position is eligible for Daily Pay through DailyPay, allowing employees to access their pay on their own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and KPIs for assigned duties.
• Sort donated items by type (books, media, textiles, housewares, etc.), including season, color, and quality of product.
• Hang, size, price, tag, and prepare items to be sold on the sales floor.
• Inspect and quick test items that plug in or run on batteries to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Make pricing decisions according to Goodwill standards of quality and value (good, better, best), including researching item values online or using company tools.
• Ensure production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, properly merchandised, and clean.
• Provide excellent customer service; answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or pull old or unsold product from the sales floor to refresh product selection.
• Process E-Commerce product as assigned (sort, hang, size, price, tag, etc.).
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures, including safety processes to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain clear and organized work areas, adhering to continuous improvement standards.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a back-up as required.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed, including working in donations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of retail experience is preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Ability to assess quality and value of product, including researching value as necessary.
• Must be able to see color and use judgment for quality assessment and pricing.
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.
