Job Summary
As a CPI Production Associate, you will play a crucial role in the production line, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost management in your assigned area. Your responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards, inspecting coated items, resolving quality issues, and assisting in the rework process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate powder coat and related equipment according to specifications.
- Prepare equipment for production and hang parts on conveyor hooks.
- Inspect and maintain equipment for safety compliance, addressing any issues before operation.
- Check coated items for coverage and test coating thickness.
- Resolve quality and mechanical problems by making minor repairs and adjustments.
- Prepare parts for rework and apply powder to correct defects.
- Work from schedules and specifications, and assist in training parts hangers.
Qualifications
- Under minimal supervision, set up and operate equipment as per specifications.
- Ensure parts are properly hung on conveyor hooks and remove them when necessary.
- Inspect and maintain equipment for safety compliance, correcting any issues before use.
- Inspect coated items for coverage and test coating thickness.
- Resolve quality and mechanical problems by making minor repairs and adjustments.
- Prepare parts for rework and apply powder to correct defects.
- Work from schedules and specifications, and assist in training parts hangers.
Technical Competencies
- Good mechanical skills, including the use of hand tools.
- Good troubleshooting skills to evaluate and resolve operational problems.
- Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
- Work with powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
