Production Associate (Operator) - (3rd Shift)

Responsibilities

• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Adjust machine components, tension, and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
• Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Work effectively and efficiently with teammates to package products.
• Monitor a packaging machine during the packaging process to identify and correct malfunctions.
• Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area while working with a variety of equipment.
• Perform metal detector verification to ensure product is free of metal.
• Complete paperwork including downtime logs, machine logs, and batch orders.
• Assist with team directing during changeover and/or cleaning.
• Report any safety matters or malfunctions to the line lead or supervisor.
• Perform all job functions within required General Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Understand and use production standards and specifications; advise when producing inefficiently.
• Keep accurate and legible documentation.
• Work with maintenance to troubleshoot machine problems.
• Verify that product meets quality standards, counting and recording finished and rejected packaged items.
• Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Basic math, communication, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate in English and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure a quality product.
• Ability to stand on a concrete floor for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
• Work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
• Maintain good attendance as a condition of employment.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

• Standing on a concrete floor for extended time periods.
• Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
• Required to work weekends during peak season.
• Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.
