Production Associate - La Mirada, CA

Georgia-Pacific is one of the nation’s leading corrugated box manufacturers, offering entry-level hourly positions that support production by safely operating corrugated production equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.

About the role

Production Associates work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment and may be required to work any shift, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. The role involves operating and working around mobile equipment, performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve hours a day in a fast-paced, high-volume industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
• Monitor and/or enter data into computer control systems
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment to optimize production
• Read tape measure in increments of 1/16”
• Perform basic quality checks, multitask, pay special attention to detail, and communicate effectively with peers and management
• Perform basic asset care duties, including routine preventative maintenance, and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

Requirements

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment in a manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, or military setting OR completion of post-high school education in manufacturing/industrial
• Must be available to work all shifts, specifically 2nd and 3rd, including weekends and overtime as necessary

Qualifications

• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
• One year or more of experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry

Pay

Starting salary of $22.68 per hour, with shift differentials of $0.50 per hour for 2nd shift and $1.00 per hour for 3rd shift.

Schedule

• 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (overtime and weekends as needed)
• 2nd shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (overtime and weekends as needed)
• 3rd shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (overtime and weekends as needed)
