Production Associate II - 3rd Shift *

About the role
Pay rate: $17/hr with a $1.00 shift differential totaling to $18/hr. The Production Associate 2 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product, minimize waste/cost, and deliver on time to customers. You will work with a sense of urgency to maintain material flow throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick, and pack products
- Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
- Follow defined clean-up times
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
- Follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
- Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance product quality
- Identify problems, communicate issues, and assist with training co-workers
- Support a respectful workplace
- Perform other duties across the plant as directed by supervision or management
Requirements
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions and decimals
- Basic word and number recognition/visual cues
- Operate power tools with dexterity and know when to change PPE
- Identify hazards and understand station-specific safety protocols/PPE
- Knowledge of measurement standards, tolerances, and product defects specific to your workstation
- Follow instructions and Standard Work while referencing Standard Work instructions
- Understand in-station quality requirements and CTQ (Critical to Quality) metrics
- Communicate effectively: active listening, clear explanation, asking questions, sharing important information
- Time management and awareness of cycle times
- Perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals
- Interface with a computer system: accessing, navigating, identifying, and downloading
- Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion
- Problem-solving using Root Cause Analysis
- Dependability and punctuality
- Profile recognition: ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawings
- Monitor inventory by adhering to min-max levels (WIP)
- Utilize and record scrap accurately and legibly
- Wear required PPE: metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
- High school diploma is preferred
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand for extended periods
- Consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day
- Work in hot and cold environments
- Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs
- Willing and able to work various positions in different departments (cross-trained)
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
- Follow supervisors' instructions/directions as given
- Possess problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative skills
- Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
