About the role

The Production Associate 2 position at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is a full-time, 2nd shift role. The position is permanent and offers competitive pay starting at $17/hr with a $1.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
  • Follow defined clean-up times
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for Customers
  • Identify problems; communicate issues
  • Assist with training co-workers
  • Support a respectful workplace
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management

Qualifications

  • Ability to read a tape measure as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
  • Variations – having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
  • Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referencing Standard work instructions
  • Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
  • Quality Recognition In station quality requirements/CTQ
  • Communicate Effectively by actively Listening, Explain Clearly & Accurately, Ask Questions, Share Important Info.
  • Time Management and aware of Cycle Times
  • Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals
  • Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying download
  • Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good Posture and repetitive motion
  • Problem Solving using Root Cause Analysis
  • Dependability being on time consistently
  • Profile Recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing
  • Maintain Inventory by adhering to min-max levels (WIP) Utilization of Scrap
  • Record keeping being Accurate, Timely, Legible/Scrap
  • Able to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
  • Dependability/punctuality & Detail Oriented
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required
  • Ability to work in hot & cold environment is required
  • Be able to work extended hours and weekend based on business needs is required
  • Will be able to work various positions in various departments (cross-trained) is required
  • Able to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is required
  • Able to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given is required
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
