About the role

The Production Associate 2 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring safe, quality production with minimal waste to meet customer delivery timelines. This role requires working with urgency to maintain material flow throughout the plant.

Pay rate: $17/hr

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand tools and assemble, lift, pick, and pack products
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
  • Follow defined clean-up times
  • Work safely and adhere to safe work practices and policies
  • Meet established production rates as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance product quality
  • Identify problems and communicate issues effectively
  • Assist with training co-workers
  • Support a respectful workplace
  • Perform other duties across the plant as directed by supervision or management
  • Operate forklifts
  • Monitor inventory by adhering to min-max levels (WIP) and manage scrap utilization
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legible record-keeping, including scrap tracking
  • Train operators and oversee multiple workstations
  • Interpret and adhere to production schedules
  • Manage line flow and lead team activities
  • Use root cause analysis for problem-solving

Requirements

  • Forklift experience (required)
  • Ability to read and recognize words/numbers, including visual cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity and know when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards and understand safety protocols/PPE for your workstation
  • Knowledge of measurement standards, tolerances, and product defects specific to your workstation
  • Follow instructions and standard work while referencing work instructions
  • Understand in-station quality requirements and critical-to-quality (CTQ) factors
  • Communicate effectively: active listening, clear explanations, asking questions, sharing important information
  • Manage time and be aware of cycle times
  • Perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals
  • Navigate computer systems: accessing, identifying, and downloading information
  • Stand for 8 to 10 hours with good posture and perform repetitive motions
  • Dependability and consistent punctuality
  • Profile recognition: ability to recognize shapes and compare them to sample drawings
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand for extended periods
  • Consistently lift at least 50 pounds for 8 to 12 hours daily
  • Work in hot and cold environments
  • Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs
  • Be cross-trained and willing to work in various positions/departments
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
  • Follow supervisors' instructions and directions
  • Possess problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative skills
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and ERP functionalities
