About the role
Our holsters division is a premier designer and innovator of safety holsters and other duty gear, as well as a manufacturer of components and finished products for holsters and firearm accessories. As a Holster Molding Operator, you will perform repetitive operations to mass-produce products while maintaining target performance on key metrics: discrepancies, accidents, desired ship dates, and inventory cycle counts.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned machine operations within established time standards and according to standardized procedures.
- Conduct required daily machine maintenance and annotate appropriate forms.
- Assist in developing standardized work instructions.
- Ensure quality defects are not passed on to following processes.
- Work at different work stations as production needs require.
- Work on line where tasks vary as different models of the same article move along the line.
- Verify work order to assembled parts and/or finished product.
- Observe all safety regulations and procedures of the facility.
- Help in keeping production area clean and organized.
- Participate in kaizen activities to achieve productivity and quality improvements.
- Train associates as required.
- Notify supervisor of non-conforming product or unsafe equipment/work practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three (3) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- General knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop operations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must work well with others and have the ability to be a team member.
- Ability to accept direction from a peer.
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Utilize hand and finger dexterity.
