Production Associate-Clothing-Turnstyles (part time)

Position Summary

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings. Assist with production & handling of TurnStyles’ donations and moving merchandise from the donation bay, through inspection, testing, pricing and on to the sales floor. The Production Associate will work to reach a daily quote for items produced to the sales floor under the direction of the Production Manager while supporting sales and profitability.

Essential Functions

• Follow existing guidelines to ensure proper testing, cleaning, pricing and tagging of merchandise.
• Ensure quality merchandise and assess items for product recalls before placing on the sales floor.
• Sort, hang, and tag clothing and other items at a rate of 80+ pieces per hour.
• Assist volunteers with questions regarding the production process and connect them with the supervisor when additional assistance is needed.
• Maintain safe and organized work spaces in all processing areas of the store.
• Serve as a backup on the sales floor and donation bay when needed.
• Work up to 8 hours per day in an assigned position; hours may vary with evenings and weekends possible.
• Collaborate as a team player and perform other duties as assigned.

• Understanding that employees represent the Archdiocesan Church and will not publicly oppose Catholic teachings or the positions of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas or the USCCB.
• Completion of VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required.
• High school diploma; college degree preferred.
• Effective communication and ability to motivate associates and volunteers.
• Strong customer service experience, including handling donor or customer complaints.
• Knowledge of retail or thrift‑store operations preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, push, or move up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
• Stand and/or walk for long periods (up to 9 hours at a time).
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
• Near and distance vision, depth perception.
• Work primarily in a warehouse environment with temperature changes, extreme cold or heat, noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, or gases.
