Production Associate 2 - Saw Operator

About the role
The Saw Operator is responsible for using a computerized cutting system to cut vinyl to the exact dimensions needed for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.
Responsibilities
- Operate a computerized cutting system to cut vinyl lineals to specified dimensions.
- Use various hand tools to manually construct window units.
- Lift and move vinyl lineals from storage to the saw workstation.
- Move carts in and out of production workstations.
- Sort and select the correct batch to process based on the line’s schedule flow report.
- Operate equipment safely with a computerized system.
- Load vinyl components into production carts.
- Place scrap in the corresponding barrel (as per 5S process).
- Maintain correct parts drops inventory listed in the system present in the drop bin location.
- Perform quality audits and engage in problem-solving to resolve issues.
- Conduct quality checks of cut parts.
- Perform 5S and housekeeping duties.
- Complete downtime duties assigned to the workstation during line stoppages.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for the duration of the entire shift.
- Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within the line/complex.
- Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to convert fractions to decimals.
- Ability to read and understand schedule workflow reports and written instructions.
- Capable of using computerized equipment.
- Ability to move production carts.
- Ability to recognize parts by shape and color.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Pay
Base Pay: $17.75 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule
2nd Shift: 3:45 pm - 12:15 am

Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.
