About the role

This position is an entry-level position that assists operators engaged in processing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line and as needed.
  • Build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
  • Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.
  • Perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, and weights are adhered to using the proper tools.
  • Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
  • Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
  • Read and understand production orders.
  • Wraps and unwraps materials.
  • Housekeeping of work areas.
  • Operates a sit-down forklift.
  • Achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift. Training and certification provided regardless of previous experience.
  • Ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.
  • Understanding basic math, reading, and writing.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.

Working Conditions

The role is based in a production facility where the ambient temperature may fluctuate, and the noise levels may be increased. The candidate must be flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.

Physical Requirements

The role requires:

  • Lifting or carrying 1-10 LBS, 11-20 LBS, 21-40 LBS.
  • Pushing or pulling 1-40 LBS, 41-50 LBS.
  • Bending or stooping.
  • Reaching above shoulder level.
  • Driving automatic equipment vehicles.
  • Operating machinery or power tools.
  • Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.).
  • Walking, standing, sitting.
  • Working in extreme temperatures.
  • Repetitive motion, including wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Vision, hearing, dexterity, hand-eye coordination.

Personal Protective Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment is regularly required for this position, including steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves and arm guards, and hearing protection.
