About the role
This team performs limited electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and support production assembly tasks. Tasks are repetitive and involve building and assembling routine units. Members determine and follow methods and sequences of operations for assembling cables, soldering, bonding, testing, standard troubleshooting, and manufacturing transducers.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, diagrams, or established operations practices to assemble and install various probe components.
- Perform solder touch-up or solder of parts as a secondary operation.
- Complete other duties as assigned and possibly to other areas: Wiring, Epoxy, Final Assembly/Lensing.
- Handle small, delicate parts with a high degree of accuracy to perform routine tasks in preparation for assembly.
- Follow method sheets to ensure documented and controlled processes are followed to assemble various electronic components.
- Use common hand tools like wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and small hand tools and soldering equipment.
- Operate and maintain stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follow established manufacturing procedures.
- Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
- Repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
- Keep daily assembly production records.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods of time and complete tasks using a microscope.
- The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions along with strong communication skills.
- Ability to use a computer and enter accurate data.
- Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
- Flexible to changing needs of the business and department and willing to work overtime as needed.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Highly organized, self-managed individual who works independently and can work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Experience with hand soldering and using a microscope preferred.
