This position reports to the Supervisor and is classified as non-exempt, full-time regular employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisor in troubleshooting, making minor adjustments, and reporting any issues with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime.
  • Work closely with the plant operator, assistant supervisor, and maintenance staff.
  • Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns and provide updates on equipment statuses.
  • Read and prepare work orders; create logistics to perform work while coordinating with production, maintenance, and supervisors.
  • Monitor production area and respond to maintenance calls.
  • Check code dates, work orders, and inspect equipment.
  • Train new employees on how to safely work on or near equipment or heavy machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant; inspect work area and perform clean-up using proper tools and machinery as needed.
  • Notify supervisor of any object found or pest sighted in the work area.
  • Interpret and enforce all sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor and ensure that the following areas are running smoothly and not backing up: “Big Blue”, Cello Pit, and South Plant.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School/GED Diploma or one to two years experience in a related field or a combination of both education and experience.
  • Valid Driver License and clean driving record.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Punctual, excellent attendance record, and ability to cooperate with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.
  • Apply common sense, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two to three years’ experience in production maintenance (production worker).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Forklift certified.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and stairs using three-point contact.
  • Exposure to hot/humid conditions (95° Fahrenheit or above).
  • Exposure to cold/wet conditions (40° Fahrenheit or below).
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to environmental factors such as fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50-55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period.

Schedule

1st shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Occasionally Saturdays/Sundays; hours subject to change. Overtime and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.

Pay

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour.
