Production Assistant
About the role
Combine your interest in NBA basketball, broadcast production, and sports storytelling as a part-time Production Assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder. As a member of the Emmy Award-winning Thunder Broadcast department, you will support live game recording, footage logging, media requests, and archive management while gaining hands-on experience assisting with shoots and editing content.
Responsibilities
- Record Thunder home and away game broadcasts and other live feeds
- Log recorded games, practices, press conferences and team events, identifying memorable moments for future use by producers and editors
- Search for footage and build playlists to support internal and external production requests
- Maintain accurate archive records to track the location and contents of historical Thunder footage
- Assist with in-house and field shoots by transporting, setting up, and operating production equipment
- Shoot video and edit content for Thunder productions under the direction of department producers
- Collaborate with producers, editors, and other members of the Broadcast department to support live programming and post-production projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of basketball terminology, Thunder storylines, and NBA coverage
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in sports production, videography, editing, and visual storytelling
- Basic knowledge of camera operation, production workflows, and video editing techniques
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and a willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, as the role includes occasional local travel
Schedule
This is a part-time, hourly position averaging 20-29 hours per week, including office hours, events, and game nights during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
The primary work location is the Thunder corporate office at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, and working in a live event environment with loud crowd noise, music, and in-arena lighting, including strobe lights.
