Production Assistant
About the role
KOAT, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a Broadcast Production Assistant to join our production crew. This position requires a team player who understands the flexible schedule demanded by the broadcast industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate cameras and studio floor directing
- Move and handle props and sets during productions
- Construct, maintain, install, and operate props, cameras, prompters, sets, and other production equipment
- Prepare lighting and scripts for newscasts
- Maintain the appearance of studios, including cleaning of sets and floors
- Understand and maintain the lighting grid and control board
- Climb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the grid
- Edit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe Premiere
- Assist the directors
Requirements
- Working knowledge of television newscast equipment and software
- Videography experience (helpful)
- Editing experience (necessary)
- Ability to handle the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
- Related military experience will be considered
