Production Assistant

About the role

The Production Assistant is the connective tissue of the studio, the person who keeps the day-to-day operations moving. You'll work across departments rather than inside a single one, which means the job rewards curiosity, initiative, and a genuinely good sense of what needs attention before you're asked. This role gets limited supervision by design. You'll be trusted to think critically, solve problems as they come up, and use good judgment on what to escalate. Extreme attention to detail matters here. Flexibility and a level head under pressure are non-negotiable; priorities shift quickly, and the ability to stay calm and reprioritize is what separates a good PA from a great one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day office and administrative support, including front-desk coverage, phone and visitor management, and general studio upkeep.
  • Manage calendars, scheduling, and conference room logistics for producers and department leads.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage supply, kitchen, and facilities needs.
  • Assist department leads (Editorial, Producing, Content, Design, Music, Key Art) with administrative and light production support as assigned.
  • Help plan and execute internal events and the employee appreciation calendar.
  • Take on ad hoc research and special projects from studio leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and resourcefulness — you look for the answer before asking for it.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Sharp organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once without dropping the small stuff.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and Notion, and the willingness to pick up new project- and asset-management tools quickly.
  • Discretion handling confidential creative, financial, or personnel information.
  • A genuine interest in entertainment marketing, with curiosity about post-production, editorial, producing, design, music, or key art.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; prior internship or coursework in film, television, advertising, or communications is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles.

Growth Path

This role is built as an entry point, not a holding pattern. Production Assistants at Create are trained with an eye toward moving into a department of their choosing, with direct mentorship from department leads. Paths open from this seat include:

  • AV Editorial
  • Creative (Producing)
  • Content
  • Design
  • Music
  • Key Art

Interest in one or more of these areas is expected — we staff this role with the next step already in mind, and we build training and shadowing time around where you want to go.

Benefits

  • Excellent benefits package
  • Well-stocked kitchens
  • Casual working environment
  • Thriving employee appreciation social calendar
  • Dog-friendly studio
