Production Assistant

Job SummaryThe Production Assistant supports manufacturing operations by accurately gathering, organizing, preparing, and delivering materials and components required for production. This position is responsible for ensuring production kits are complete, properly identified, and available to support scheduled manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while following established safety, quality, and inventory procedures. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Review production orders, work instructions, pick lists, and material requirements to determine items needed for each kit.Pull and gather materials, components, hardware, and supplies from designated inventory locations.Verify part numbers, quantities, descriptions, and other identifying information to ensure kit accuracy.Assemble and organize production kits according to established procedures.Label and identify kits and materials appropriately.Deliver completed kits to designated production areas in a timely manner.Maintain organized staging and kitting areas.Identify shortages, damaged materials, incorrect parts, or discrepancies and promptly notify the supervisor or appropriate personnel.Assist with inventory counts and material reconciliation as needed.Enter or update material and inventory information in applicable systems or records.Follow established material handling, inventory control, and quality procedures.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Support production and manufacturing personnel with material-related needs.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for the job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.QualificationsMinimum Requirements High school diploma or GED.Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and basic documentation.Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to organize materials and prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and production personnel.Dependable attendance and punctuality.Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials as required for the position.PreferredPrevious experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, kitting, material handling, or inventory control.Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.Familiarity with manufacturing parts, hardware, tools, or components.Forklift or material-handling equipment experience, where applicable.Essential Mental RequirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Problem solving and reasoning skills to assist with resolution of issues.Strong organizational skills.Capability to interpret data.Essential Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
