Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees follow safety guidelines and safety training methods, work in a safe manner, and have all safety equipment necessary to perform tasks assigned to them.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and/or locations.
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve ERP control processes including department scheduling, MES data collection for job operations, and reoccurring reports / dashboards related to production.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign the employee training to experienced workers.
- Inspect job travelers before starting job to ensure routing steps are correct.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked as well as monitoring time clocks and punches.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, job travelers, production schedules, engineer change requests and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Create and maintain a clean and organized shop and work areas.
- Attend and conduct presentations of various information in daily, weekly and monthly departmental meetings and cross-department meetings.
- Create and maintain Daily, Weekly, Monthly Duties and Responsibility Matrix with departmental supervisors, leads and key office personnel under Assembly.
- Oversee and seek approval for planned overtime hours and job completion functions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- At least 5 years production manufacturing experience, preferably in a metal fabrication industry
- Supervisory experience is preferred, but not required
- Windows PC proficiency
- Microsoft Office proficiency - all programs
- Previous ERP experience
