Responsibilities
- Assemble water vessel components including piping, fittings, and interior modules according to technical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
- Install mechanical parts, electrical systems, plumbing, and hydraulic components per specifications.
- Inspect materials and assemblies throughout the production process to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Identify and report defects or non-conformities to supervisors for timely corrective actions.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized marine assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance of tools used.
- Follow occupational safety guidelines, including confined space procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Adhere to maritime and manufacturing industry regulations during assembly processes.
- Work cooperatively with team members including welders, carpenters, electricians, and engineers.
- Communicate progress, issues, and resource needs to the production supervisor or project lead.
- Maintain accurate assembly records, including work logs, inspection checklists, and completion reports.
- Ensure traceability of components by following company documentation protocols.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Recommend changes to assembly methods or materials to improve output and reduce waste.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with hand tools and understanding of drawings and schematics.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of manual dexterity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Read blueprints.
