About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Production Agent to design and implement risk management programs for personal lines, commercial select (under $3,000 in revenue), and individual Life & Health clients. In this role, you will retain and service a dedicated book of business, ensuring clients receive exceptional service and comprehensive coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and cultivate qualified prospects, schedule appointments, complete applications, and make sales presentations for clients under $3,000 in agency revenue.
  • Pass on warm client leads outside your experience/expertise to a Sales Executive or Sales Leader and cultivate relationships throughout the sales pipeline.
  • Design and implement risk management programs for clients, directing the use of all FNIC resources.
  • Coordinate resolution of claim coverage issues, appraisals, and audits while keeping clients fully informed.
  • Arrange payment terms for accounts in accordance with agency credit and collections policy.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Review and analyze client-related contracts, recommend coverage modifications, and eliminate gaps to reduce E&O exposure.
  • Actively participate in professional and community organizations to promote the agency and insurance industry.
  • Manage customer service accountabilities on a book of business while meeting department service standards.
  • Oversee the new business and renewal process, negotiate terms, review quotes, prepare proposals, and bind coverage.
  • Service accounts by preparing proposals, issuing certificates and auto ID cards, processing endorsements, audits, binders, and maintaining account tasks.
  • Promptly invoice all premium-bearing transactions and review policies upon receipt for timely customer service.
  • Respond promptly to customer questions and requests for assistance.
  • Communicate necessary information to clients, carriers, and agency team members.
  • Maintain electronic account files and incorporate agency management system capabilities into daily workflow.
  • Prioritize workload to meet objectives and request assistance from management when necessary.
  • Perform quality reviews as requested and comply with quality program requirements.
  • Follow agency and department procedures as outlined by management.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with insurance company representatives.
  • Ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through newsletters, bulletins, seminars, trade publications, or other educational opportunities.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Complete special projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Resident Property and Casualty Agent’s license and/or Life & Health Agent’s license.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience; 3 years of insurance experience preferred.
  • CIC, CPCU, or similar designations (AAI, CRIS, AU) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and agency automation software.
  • Knowledge of department workflows and procedures.
  • Ability to teach and mentor others in account servicing.
  • Proficient in office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, phones, and fax machines.
  • Strong respect for confidentiality.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment properly.
  • Ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and external contacts.
