About the Role
This is a hybrid role based in Missouri or Illinois. Ideal applicants will have a clinical background, medical sales, or supply chain knowledge. The Product Utilization Manager will drive physician and clinician engagement through relationship building, analytical, and educational efforts to achieve maximum value for the organization, specifically through presentations, promotions, and utilization of preferred medical products.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and grow effective relationships with physicians and clinicians to engage in the identification, evaluation, pilot, and execution processes for ensuring clinical efficacy of products while maintaining or reducing total supply costs.
- Engage physicians before, during, and after a Clinical Expert Council forum to drive active participation, address analytic questions, provide trade-off opportunities, and assist with quantifying savings of utilization changes in physician practice.
- Integrate into existing leadership forums to support and drive the cultural change necessary to achieve supply savings while maintaining superior outcomes.
- Apply and implement expertise to analyze surgeon utilization patterns, identify new savings opportunities, decrease surgical case costs, and quantify achieved savings.
- Develop long-term strategies for managing vendors locally, including the introduction of new products, pilot opportunities, education, and compliance with vendor policies.
- Discuss complex products and communicate effectively with providers and clinicians.
- Manage multiple product types, follow-ups, and internal processes.
- Utilize tools and resources to educate yourself on products, their usage, and clinician specification requirements.
- Provide strong customer service, relationship management, and communication.
- Critically review and assess the need for specific supplies and use knowledge/experience to evaluate if similar products are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business or healthcare-related field (required).
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
