PRODUCT TRAINER 2

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This is a full-time, 1st shift role located at Newport News Shipbuilding. No relocation assistance is available, and the position is not eligible for telework or travel.

About the Role

Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of exempt experience; or
• Master's degree and 1 year of exempt experience.

One of the following may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• High school and 5 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience, or other relevant non-exempt experience
• Graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School

The following may be used as equivalent to the number of exempt years of experience required, in addition to the education requirement above:

• 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience

Nice to Have

• Experience planning, developing, and coordinating product training programs for MT/PT testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a confidential DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities include obtaining information to prepare training programs; preparing training materials; developing course content; determining methodology; and coordinating the development of training aids/mock-ups for MT/PT testing technique. Additionally, conducts training sessions, develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness, tracks qualification expiration, and ensures maintenance is completed. Continuously revises training material to meet new requirements and keep technical information up to date.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $66,000.00 to $83,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
