Product Technician
About the role
The Product Technician supports product developers, sensory specialists, and scientists on a wide range of projects across the organization. This role is responsible for conducting precise analytical testing of ingredients and fermented products using a wide range of laboratory techniques, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of results. The Product Technician reports to the Product Manager and works with others in Research, Analytical Sciences, and Quality.
Responsibilities
- Request, track, and maintain products for product review and evaluation program
- Prepare sensory training and calibration samples
- Set up and support internal sensory tests (product profiling, discrimination test, and acceptance tests) as needed for the sensory scientist or manager
- Conduct routine to complex analytical testing of ingredients and fermented products following standard laboratory procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols
- Record, label, and manage finished product samples for immediate testing, and various shelf-life studies
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness, including cleaning and maintaining glassware and equipment
- Prepare and ship samples as needed
- Maintain accurate records, timely test records and ensure data integrity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
A high school education is required. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree with a focus on science. 1-3 years of laboratory experiences preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to lift 30 to 50lbs
- Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, are preferred
- Ability to work as a team member and independently
