About the role
Fuse Integration is seeking a Product Systems & Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring products are well-defined, manufacturable, supportable, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure system-level questions, manufacturing readiness, and material availability are addressed.
Responsibilities
Own the product Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and configuration from prototype through full-rate production and sustainment.
Assist with parts sourcing, including evaluation and selection of alternate components based on lead times, cost, performance, and obsolescence issues.
Help track parts acquisition and production planning in collaboration with Supply Chain, Production Control, and Program Management to ensure material readiness for builds.
Ensure configuration control, adherence to engineering change orders (ECOs), and proper implementation of BOM and documentation changes in the ERP/MES and PLM systems.
Support obsolescence management for critical components and drive redesign proposals or alternates when required.
Carefully coordinate with production and quality teams to support system build, configuration, and acceptance testing.
Provide floor support to resolve day-to-day manufacturing issues, train production personnel on new processes, and ensure adherence to standard work.
Lead root-cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities for yield escapes, process nonconformances, and customer returns; implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
Develop product troubleshooting guides and other technical reference materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with integration of hardware, firmware, and software components in lab and field environments, including support to troubleshooting and defect resolution.
Diagnose, fix, and troubleshoot complex technical issues in systems or components; drive cross-functional resolution.
Maintain and manage product development schedules with the goal of meeting customer timelines and achieving program/project milestones.
Support risk management, including identification, tracking, and mitigation of technical and schedule risks across the project lifecycle.
Participate in regular program reviews, status meetings, and customer interactions as the product technical representative for manufacturing and system-level topics.
Support the development of work instructions and subassembly drawings/BOMs for new product development.
