Product Support Specialist

About the role
This position is remote and requires travel within the territory (WI, MN, and IA) and other additional travel. The Product Support Specialist is a pivotal individual contributor responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and training to both internal and external customers. You will assist customers in resolving product quality and application issues, identify root causes of challenges, and facilitate effective resolutions. Engaging in field support, you'll oversee product installation, project management, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will provide comprehensive product information and training, contribute to collaborative technical solutions, and maintain documentation of product and customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support and training to internal and external customers
- Align customers' experiences with business goals and core values
- Resolve product quality and application issues

- Provide field support, oversee product installation, and manage projects

- Provide comprehensive product information and training

Requirements
- Two-year technical degree in Mechanics or Electronics, or 3+ years of relevant field experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Analytical skills to work with variables
- Ability to travel overnight to customer locations, including international locations
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
Skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in delivering presentations in small and large group settings
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- General conduct consistent with good character and reflective of VAL-CO core values
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods (driving, plane, desk) up to 8 hours/day
- Walk up to 2 miles/day on uneven surfaces or around obstacles (e.g., animals, equipment)
- Stand for extended periods (e.g., 6 hours or more)
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor
- Carry items while walking
- Bend, squat, or kneel
- Transition from kneeling to standing
- Twist or rotate body (e.g., to reach tools or equipment)
- Rotate while walking or bending
- Use hand tools and perform detailed tasks
- Work on the ground or in tight spaces (e.g., under equipment)
Pay
Competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 per year.
